Leafpad is a GTK+ based simple text editor. The user interface is similar to Notepad. It aims to be lighter than GEdit and KWrite, and to be as useful as them.
The library supports many operations that are useful on * Document images * Natural images Fundamental image processing and image analysis operations * Rasterop (aka bitblt) * Affine transforms (scaling, translation, rotation, shear) on images of arbitrary pixel depth * Projective and bi-linear transforms * Binary and gray scale morphology, rank order filters, and convolution * Seed-fill and connected components * Image transformations with changes in pixel depth, both at the same scale and with scale change * Pixelwise masking, blending, enhancement, arithmetic ops, etc.
The less utility is a text file browser that resembles more, but has more capabilities. Less allows you to move backwards in the file as well as forwards. Since less doesn't have to read the entire input file before it starts, less starts up more quickly than text editors (for example, vi). You should install less because it is a basic utility for viewing text files, and you'll use it frequently.
LessTif is a free replacement for OSF/Motif, which provides a full set of widgets for application development (menus, text entry areas, scrolling windows, etc.). LessTif is source compatible with OSF/Motif. This package provides the lesstif runtime libraries.
LevelDB is a fast key-value storage library written at Google that provides an ordered mapping from string keys to string values.
LFTP is a sophisticated ftp/http file transfer program. Like bash, it has job control and uses the readline library for input. It has bookmarks, built-in mirroring, and can transfer several files in parallel. It is designed with reliability in mind.
