The xcb-util module provides a number of libraries which sit on top of libxcb, the core X protocol library, and some of the extension libraries. These experimental libraries provide convenience functions and interfaces which make the raw X protocol more usable. Some of the libraries also provide client-side code which is not strictly part of the X protocol but which have traditionally been provided by Xlib.
Xdelta (X for XCF: the eXperimental Computing Facility at Berkeley) is a binary delta generator (like a diff program for binaries) and an RCS version control replacement library. The Xdelta library performs its work independently of the actual format used to encode the file and is intended to be used by various higher-level programs such as XCF's Project Revision Control System (PRCS). Contains xdg-user-dirs-update that updates folders in a users homedirectory based on the defaults configured by the administrator.
The xdg-utils package is a set of simple scripts that provide basic desktop integration functions for any Free Desktop, such as Linux. They are intended to provide a set of defacto standards. This means that: * Third party software developers can rely on these xdg-utils for all of their simple integration needs. * Developers of desktop environments can make sure that their environments are well supported * Distribution vendors can provide custom versions of these utilities The following scripts are provided at this time: * xdg-desktop-menu Install desktop menu items * xdg-desktop-icon Install icons to the desktop * xdg-icon-resource Install icon resources * xdg-mime Query information about file type handling and install descriptions for new file types * xdg-open Open a file or URL in the user's preferred application * xdg-email Send mail using the user's preferred e-mail composer * xdg-screensaver Control the screensaver
XEmacs is a highly customizable open source text editor and application development system. It is protected under the GNU General Public License and related to other versions of Emacs, in particular GNU Emacs. Its emphasis is on modern graphical user interface support and an open software development model, similar to Linux. This package contains XEmacs documentation in GNU texinfo format.
Xerces-C is a validating XML parser written in a portable subset of C++. Xerces-C makes it easy to give your application the ability to read and write XML data. A shared library is provided for parsing, generating, manipulating, and validating XML documents. Xerces-C is faithful to the XML 1.0 recommendation and associated standards: XML 1.0 (Third Edition), XML 1.1 (First Edition), DOM Level 1, 2, 3 Core, DOM Level 2.0 Traversal and Range, DOM Level 3.0 Load and Save, SAX 1.0 and SAX 2.0, Namespaces in XML, Namespaces in XML 1.1, XML Schema, XML Inclusions).
Welcome to the future! Xerces2 is the next generation of high performance, fully compliant XML parsers in the Apache Xerces family. This new version of Xerces introduces the Xerces Native Interface (XNI), a complete framework for building parser components and configurations that is extremely modular and easy to program. The Apache Xerces2 parser is the reference implementation of XNI but other parser components, configurations, and parsers can be written using the Xerces Native Interface. For complete design and implementation documents, refer to the XNI Manual. Xerces2 is a fully conforming XML Schema processor. For more information, refer to the XML Schema page. Xerces2 also provides a complete implementation of the Document Object Model Level 3 Core and Load/Save W3C Recommendations and provides a complete implementation of the XML Inclusions (XInclude) W3C Recommendation. It also provides support for OASIS XML Catalogs v1.1. Xerces2 is able to parse documents written according to the XML 1.1 Recommendation, except that it does not yet provide an option to enable normalization checking as described in section 2.13 of this specification. It also handles name spaces according to the XML Namespaces 1.1 Recommendation, and will correctly serialize XML 1.1 documents if the DOM level 3 load/save APIs are in use.
