gnome-terminal is a terminal emulator for GNOME. It supports translucent backgrounds, opening multiple terminals in a single window (tabs) and clickable URLs.
The gnome-themes package contains a collection of desktop themes for GNOME. These themes can change the appearance of application widgets, icons, window borders, cursors, etc.

gnome-user-share is a small package that binds together various free software projects to bring easy to use user-level file sharing to the masses. The program is meant to run in the background when the user is logged in, and when file sharing is enabled a webdav server is started that shares the $HOME/Public folder. The share is then published to all computers on the local network using mDNS/rendezvous, so that it shows up in the Network location in GNOME. The program also allows to share files using ObexFTP over Bluetooth.
The gnome-utils package contains a set of small "desk accessory" utility applications for GNOME, such as a dictionary, a disk usage analyzer, a screenshot tool and others.

GNOME VFS is the GNOME virtual file system. It is the foundation of the Nautilus file manager. It provides a modular architecture and ships with several modules that implement support for file systems, http, ftp, and others. It provides a URI-based API, backend supporting asynchronous file operations, a MIME type manipulation library, and other features.
