Mhash is a free library which provides a uniform interface to a large number of hash algorithms. These algorithms can be used to compute checksums, message digests, and other signatures. The HMAC support implements the basics for message authentication, following RFC 2104. In the later versions some key generation algorithms, which use hash algorithms, have been added. Currently, the library supports the algorithms: ADLER32, GOST, HAVAL256, HAVAL224, HAVAL192, HAVAL160, HAVAL128, MD5, MD4, MD2, RIPEMD128/160/256/320, TIGER, TIGER160, TIGER128, SHA1/224/256/384/512, Whirlpool, SNEFRU128/256, CRC32B and CRC32 checksums.
The microcode_ctl utility is a companion to the microcode driver written by Tigran Aivazian <tigran@aivazian.fsnet.co.uk>. The microcode update is volatile and needs to be uploaded on each system boot i.e. it doesn't reflash your cpu permanently, reboot and it reverts back to the old microcode.
Midori is a lightweight web browser, and has many features expected of a modern browser, including: * Full integration with GTK+2. * Fast rendering with WebKit. * Tabs, windows and session management. * Bookmarks are stored with XBEL. * Searchbox based on OpenSearch. * Custom context menu actions. * User scripts and user styles support. * Extensible via Lua scripts. The project is currently in an early alpha state. The features are still being implemented, and some are still quite incomplete.
MikMod is one of the best and most well known MOD music file players for UNIX-like systems. This particular distribution is intended to compile fairly painlessly in a Linux environment. MikMod uses the OSS /dev/dsp driver including all recent kernels for output, and will also write .wav files. Supported file formats include MOD, STM, S3M, MTM, XM, ULT, and IT. The player uses ncurses for console output and supports transparent loading from gzip/pkzip/zoo archives and the loading/saving of playlists. Install the mikmod package if you need a MOD music file player.
Ming is a c library for generating SWF ("Flash") format movies. This package only contains the basic c-based library.
Minicom is a simple text-based modem control and terminal emulation program somewhat similar to MSDOS Telix. Minicom includes a dialing directory, full ANSI and VT100 emulation, an (external) scripting language, and other features.
miniupnpc is an implementation of a UPnP client library, enabling applications to access the services provided by an UPnP "Internet Gateway Device" present on the network. In UPnP terminology, it is a UPnP Control Point. This package includes upnpc, a UPnP client application for configuring port forwarding in UPnP enabled routers.
